A christmas walk
Empty streets, a few last stragglers, church services, candles, dark shop windows. There is something so peaceful yet desolate about Austria on Christmas. We always go for a walk into town in the afternoon enjoying the lack of bustle and tourism. No one is running errands anymore, all the shops long since closed. The very last hangers-on, enjoying the very last glühwein of the season cluster around the final one or two stands still open in the Advent market. All is peace- time stands still. Expectation hanging in the air.
So, rather than a long post today, I thought I would take you on a walk through the beautiful, empty Graz of Christmas.
Here is the light of peace which has traveled from Jerusalem, The eternal light. We brought a candle home with us.
Merry Christmas!
And don't forget about the Draw With Me challenge. I am looking forward to seeing the results.
