Chaos, Kunst, und inklusion

   Inclusion through creativity (Inklusion durch Kreativität) is the brain child of a friend of mine, along with a few of her other close friends. Their goal is to help integrate people into society who for one reason or another find themselves on its fringes. Whether refugee, homeless or simply struggling it can be hard to get back on track alone, so along with her many enthusiastic social work students she is hoping to help make that transition easier. On Friday evening the 'new' Verein (NPO) here in Graz held a fundraiser event featuring art, music, and storytelling.

 And guess who represented the art portion? That's right, Me!

  The evening began with Piano music punctuated with storytelling. The stories were engaging and the playing was unbelievable.

After a buffet break where people could look at the information about the group, check out my art work and talk to the people hosting the event the musicians regrouped to form a band, playing a selection of danceable music from ACDC to beach boys and beyond. There was a lot of dancing, chatting and general fun.

At the close of the event,  a name was drawn to win one of my original Melody of the skies birds.

It wasn't actually the owl, it was the humming bird

   It was a really fun event and I am really honored to have been included with such talented performers. Best of all, the event brought in a nice little nest egg to launch the organization into its next phase of operations.
