Picnics and sketching
Each summer we choose a theme. Something to carry us through the warm months, creating a thread that binds the outings and activities together into a memorable experience. Last summer it was picnics. 2019, the summer of picnics. We bought a hamper and splurged on a second blanket. And throughout the summer we traveled and picnicked, and walked and picnicked, and sketched and picnicked, trying out a number of nice little treats and enjoying the outdoors. Many of the locations made it into my sketchbook in the form of urban sketches.
Because this summer is, well, this summer. I think we may end up carrying this 'social distancing' friendly activity on.
Today I am sharing a few of the photos from last summer with you. I hope they will inspire you to enjoy the outdoors and maybe do a bit of drawing, sketching or even painting while you are out there.
